The Kegs and I

Last weekend, Circle Brewing Brewery had their grand opening. It was a free public event and they offered three free 5oz.  beer tastings, however if you bought a Circle Brewing branded pint glass, you got pint sized samples. As you can see in the picture above, I opted for the latter.

Beer Recipe

Apparently, Circle Brewing follows the German Purity Laws, the ingredients listed above should be the only items used in their beer.

1st Stop

Grain before and after milling

At the grand opening we did a self guided tour of the small warehouse brewery. At the first stop you will see the milling machine which grinds up the grain to a usable texture for brewing.

Step 2

3 through 6 without 5

The missing step 5

Above are pictures of steps 2-6. Needless to say I was a little bit confused when I got to steps 3-6 and 5 was missing. Thankfully, step 5 was revealed to me, when I moved a little bit down the line.

Step 7

Cool gauge

Fermentation is at stop 7 on the tour, which takes place in these nice big fermentation tanks. They also had a cool gauges on them that reads the pressure in the tanks in multiple unit types.

Step 8

9 packaging

Now eventually, I will be getting one of these hopefully. It looks complicated but I think it will make the kegging of the beer easier.

Step 10 The Fridge

Stop 10, a room sized fridge full of kegs of beer. Needless to say I was most envious of stop 10.

Where you can buy the beer

Here is a colorful list of all the places in Austin where you can find the fine beers made by Circle Brewery.
